My absolute hero (with all his flaws!) is Thorin Oakenshield and I cosplay him both from the movies and AUs. I started cosplaying him for HobbitCon 2015. Since then I have been working on upgrading the Desolation of Smaug - Mirkwood costume (with spiders and all ;)), I have done a fun Xmas shoot and most recently I have made Thorin's battle outfit and his gold sickness cloak and crown for BotFA. Next challenge - the regal armour O.O

Prior to that I have done lots of Halloween costumes and period (40s and 50s mainly) outfits over the years. I have also performed as a belly dancer for which I designed my own costumes.

Today starting Thorin's raven sword - I call it Zirik-kark (Sharp Raven). hopefully I have come some way using worbla since I made Orcrist. I am pretty excited about this sword as I think the detail on it is stunning and I just love the dwarven weaponry so much! Have not got my new worbla sheets yet but going to make the wood and foam core today.

Managed to finish Orcrist in time for the cosplay pics at Hampton Court. It is not perfect but for the pictures it looks awesome and for a first attempt done under time pressure I am soooo proud of the result :D

Finished my first ever worbla item - Thorin's left toecap! Love this material. It is reasonably easy to work with, as long as you don't heat it too hot it holds it shape very well, hardens perfectly (and if it is not perfect you simply reheat and do it again!) and paints very well.

Looks so much better than my first attempt at these with Primo, which was just so heavy and would not stick properly to the leather. Here is the finished product (not yet attached but ready to go!)
