I sewed the main part together today, and after testing it a bit (I danced >>;) I know what needs to be fixed a little better.
I'm not wearing everything I've made for it in these pictures, as I'm still sewing bits together.

- The part around my waist needs to be fixed, so I'm doing that now, so that it sits right and doesn't slip.
- I need to make the shorts. The ones I'm wearing in these pictures are too short, and not dyed the right colour. They were an experiment. It's pretty obvious. I'm considering an overlay too, but not sure.
- I need to put lace/ruffled parts down the front, but I'm scared to because I can't get it to sit right.
- Need to attach things to gold parts, beads, etc..
- Hat is WIP too.. I'm not happy with it. I need to iron it and see how things go. I've ran out of the purple fabric >_<

Lots of things to do, but it's a start.
Oh.. And boot covers are complete. ^_^
Pinkish-red coloured fabric is a lot better than it looks in these pictures. I only had time to quickly take these today.

I've been lazy, and my sewing machine keeps jamming. All that I have left to do is finish the sash/belt part and to make the cuffs.
I'm not 100% to the references, to be honest.
On the video references there's a light blue-purple trim, but it didn't look right to me with the fabric that I'm using- it's a slightly lighter/brighter blue. I suppose this says that I should have used a different fabric, but the one I chose was the closest I could get, and it was a gift.

I've sacrificed the trim and in place have embroidered using chain stitch- two straight lines on either side of the opening, and the same stitch in scroll shapes on the hem at the bottom. It's pretty, and since overall the whole costume is still mostly accurate, and I've seen other people do things like beadwork instead.. I'm not beating myself up over it. It's the first time I've ever made an outfit like this, so I guess it's to be expected that I wouldn't be great at it.

Point is, this will be done before the end of January. Just waiting for relatives to bring the spare machine.

Cut and pinned black material today. Fingers are shaking so much, I'm going to tack things together tomorrow.
Aiming to get this finished during January.
No image. Camera has gone walkabout. There's not much to look at right now anyway.

All the white part of the dress is done- modified it to suit me. Skirt is.. Ah, well, I'll write up a full entry next week when I'm home. For now, I've made a jacket and my priority is extending it to the floor to have the length of the 'coat'. A bolero and.. Stay(?) would not suit me so I've modified that to suit me too.. It will still look mostly accurate, but I am an amateur and do not want to push my luck.. So far it's all going very well.

It arrived a while ago, I just never got around to updating.
As it turns out, I apparently do suit blonde hair (my sister claimed to be jealous and ran off with the wig.)

The blue wig sits under the blonde one fine, I've tested them out together. Am happy with the result. I just need to style both a little now.

I think when I actually do this for Midlands I'll colour my eyebrows and eyelashes blue, because like Kaila (my Gakupo) says, it's unlikely Kaito would go to so much detail. Plus, in the video they magically change colour.

I'll try to get some proper pictures sometime soon, at which point I'll delete the two I've uploaded. Only another week or two before I start the main dress/coat! Can't wait!

I've ordered the blonde wig today. I think it's perfect.
I'm a little nervous, I'm not sure if I'll suit blonde hair.

I need to buy new make up when I have money, because I bought a book instead this weekend.
I also want to try and think of things I could possibly reuse the blonde wig for, because it's always nice to reuse wigs.

I have two exams next week, afterwards I'll be waiting a week or two, then I will start the main dress and will have progress pictures.
Next update will be when the wig gets here.

I finished one poofy petticoat on the 21st of April.
I've made a blue bag. It's not fancy, but it'll do the job. It's completely handsewn because I didn't have my sewing machine.

I've bought a prop knife for stabbing Gakupo.
I plan to buy lace soon.

Progress: As of today, all fabric and patterns for the main parts of this costume are now ready for me to use in the summer. I'll taking parts from various patterns and modifying them to fit. I have nothing left to buy at this point except for the blonde wig.

Since the fabric and patterns for the main dress/jacket-thing are all ready for this summer, I plan to start on small things such as the broach and the thing around his waist. No pictures of the main dress fabric yet. The blue colour is beautiful though.

I found some stretchy blue fabric in a £1 bin. There's a lot of it, so I couldn't pass it up!
I'm currently making a bag out of it for carrying bits and pieces- it won't be brilliant, but it'll do the job. I plan to use it for various Kaito parts because I've been looking at multiple variants.

Target: I aim to get the bag and one petticoat finished by the 21st.

I drew the base patterns up for the plushie Luka/Miku I'll be making today.
I love the MEIKO/Luka version of Lion, so I might make it into Luka. Hmm. Luka's hair will be easier, so I guess it'll have to be Luka. I'll make my headphone wings pink then.
I need to go fabric shopping!
