7th August 2009: Corset boned. Just waiting for Bolts Here's the smexy back.
7th August 2009: Corset boned. Just waiting for Bolts Here's the front boned but not yet finished
7th August 2009: Corset boned. Just waiting for Bolts Boned the corset today with sprung steel and a sheet of MDF. Looking nice and deformed!
7th August 2009: Corset half done It's green polycotton with orange raw silk lining and a coutil strength layer using the fold over method. The cog fabric is one of my own that I designed and got printed a while back. I'm so going to use it to make a mini hat. All of the boning channels are stitched in orange- it's nicer to look at, but my god it makes mistakes one of my biggest fears.
I found out today that the bolts I ordered to mount the cogs on the front are too short to do it properly. So looks like I'll get this baby boned tomorrow but won't be able to finish the entire thing until they arrive. This makes me sad as I want my mechanical corset NAO.
Oh yeah, it's going to be boned in 10mm flat steel. And a sheet of MDF. Why the MDF? Well, that shall become apparant when it's done. When I wear this I'm going to look so wonderfully deformed.
7th August 2009: Corset Pattern Here's the drafted pattern for the corset.
7th August 2009: FACE This is the makeup test for his face. It came out a lot creepier than I expected.

KhaosKreator - 5th August 2009
I'll be doing a panel on emergency cosplay repairs at Ayacon as Doctor Mechanic at 5pm on the Friday if you want to see him in character. He is much fun in real life :D
Shenny - 5th August 2009
My god the sheer amount of detail on this is simply amazing.
Anonymous - 6th August 2009
Oh my god!! I'll definitely be popping along to the panel to see this!! *___* absolutely fantastic!!
Ranma1-2 - 6th August 2009
Oww I would like to have seen Dr Mechanic in action, sounds fun. Just couldn't make it to Aya this time around.
Let me guess though...does he have a German accent ven he is speaking? :D
Doctor Mechanic is completely and perfectly British. He's very quiet and polite, and awefully considerate. That's mainly to do with his voice modulator though, which you'll see being built soon.
Anonymous - 6th August 2009
That's freakin' scary, but at the same time, freakin' epic. <3
Ranma1-2 - 7th August 2009
..even more intriguing. ^^
eternal_aranel - 7th August 2009
This is so awesome!
How on earth do you make a corset? Oo
KhaosKreator - 7th August 2009
Exactly the same way you make a shirt, just with more seams and STEEL.
Valmar - 19th August 2009
Should have asked for a picture at Aya X_X curses!

Sweeturk - 20th August 2009
Ah i wish i went to Aya, would of loved to see this in person, it looks amazing =D
Ranma1-2 - 20th August 2009
Brilliant character concept and costume creation. Looks like doctor mechanic isn't averse to performing the odd bit of surgery/improvement on himself.
I should like to see the doctor myself someday, though not in his professional capacity..
*...nurse, pass me the BONE SAW please...
I won't lie, this is going to hurt. A lot...*
@_@ @_@ @_@
Are you writing more of his background story?
KhaosKreator - 20th August 2009
I'm actually going to start writing a comic about the steampunk characters. Nothing makes characters better than a little back story.
Eatmethoubean - 21st August 2009
