Sauron - Lord of the Rings movies

MCM Manchester Comic Con 2015

Showcased 17th August 2015 What is this?

Made this costume under a commissioned request from my step son who wanted something unique for the Manchester Convention.

Sounding like a Blue Peter presenter: It's made from 10mm closed cell foam sheets and craft 2mm foam, Super Glue, Cardboard, Foam Card and Split pins. The detail is created with PVA wood glue then finished with masonry paint, aerosol paint and then Dry brushed with Gold and Silver Acrylic paint to enhance the details. The Cape is made from Garden Membrane and the ring is wooden. The finishing touch of chain mail was created with 2mm Galvanised Steel Wire.

Fantastic work on this costume - I'm surprised that it's mainly made from foam as it looks like real armour

Amazing work, i'm not a fan of the evil characters, although they are needed in any story. But I love to see hard work gone into a costume, stunning work. :)

This is incredible. Gutted that I missed seeing this in person as I am a huge LOTR fan. Congratulations on the showcase.
