Team Magma Grunt - Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald

Complete

Because Hoenn remake is happening. I don't like May's design at all but I want to cosplay to get my game because I am a loser (hoping for a release party nearby/somewhere I can travel to).

I'll be cosplaying the RSE version even though they got a swanky redesign for Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, I just love the old design c:

The black dress and gloves are bought, but everything else is made from red fleece and black pleather. The belt is from my Summer cosplay, I'm too lazy to make a nearly identical one!

Love the female Magma grunt's design, you shall rock this! (and then in the [likely not happening] future when Colosseum gets a 3DS rerelease we shall cosplay to the release of that together...)

Hood progress

To ease myself back into sewing (I've been having shoulder issues again), I decided to make something simple. And so I made my Magma hood! To get the poncho shape, I pinned around one of my oversized jumpers onto red fleece, cut around it and sewed the shoulder seams. I then tried it on, and marked the length I wanted and cut it to that (I should have left this step til later!) I used my usual pattern for the hood, and sewed it into the collar. At this point I realised that the hood would pull the poncho up, and so it looks a bit too short because I cut it too early baaah The black details are pleather (pinned on in the photo as I need to move the M up slightly). Horns will come soon! I'm still not 100% certain on the length of the poncho... opinions?
