Furisode Girl Linnea - Pokemon X and Y

I loved doing this costume! But I have a few complaints about it. No.1 being I'm way too large. I need to loose some weight before I try this again ;_; Another was I thought I'd put the parting on the right side and it was the wrong one! Super annoyed about that >_<

Thanks guys. Your opinions really mean a lot to me ^^;;; I didn't get any bad comments for it, I'm just very particular about detail and very criticising of myself.

Making the Skirt

The skirt was tricky. I had to map out a 3/4 skirt on some paper, divided it into 3 and calculate the leaf type bobbles. It didn't exactly go as planned but didn't turn out too bad. What I actually did in the end was map out just the 3 sections and then draw on the petals afterwards in chalk with a circular object. So the skirt would join at the right sections mapped on the paper but the petals would hang over the layer below. I then had to hand sew the hem on every petal, and machine sew them, then machine sew the entire thing together! It probably could have been a bit tidier. I also realised after that the colour for the bottom layer was not quite right. It looked fine in the fabric store but combining them together in the final costume and I can see it's a bit too dark. I know it's not a big deal, but it's something that will bother me :/

Top Made!

The top's done! Well 90%! All that's left to do is machine stitch it and remove the hand sewing. But I'm going to wait until the rest of the costume's done before I do that.

Fabric bought~!

I am going to keep an up-to-date(ish) journal of my cosplay constructions this time! So I went out to World of Fabrics in Cheltenham yesterday and got all this awesome fabric! What's great about them is that they have a HUGE selection that reasonably priced, and because I always buy so much they keep giving me money off! I got probably about 15m of fabric for 2 costumes at £65 bargain!
