♥ About the Costume ♥

For Cosplay Chess at Kitacon V, I decided to make something rather regal; Cersei Baratheon [Lannister], in the dress featured in Season 3 Episode 8 [Sansa's Wedding]. I chose to use upholstery fabric for the red outer of the dress, with a gold pattern sprayed through a homemade lion emblem stencil. Inside the dress is a corset made from Worbla, this enabled the dress's upper edge to stay in shape yet be slightly flexible due to the nature of the material used. The torque [neckpiece] is similarly made from worbla. As my own hair is a very similar shade of blonde to Cersei's I decided to use my own hair with home made extensions that belnd in well with my own shade [also made use of old extensions I don't use :D].

Oh my goodness - a whole bodice supported by worbla! You're a genius with the stuff. Can you move around while wearing it? Is it comfortable?

Frederica la Noir posted on 2 March, 2014 - 13:26
The worbla is actually quite comfy :) as it's not partically binding in corseted way as it just rests againts my body rather than sucking me in. Only annoyance is I need help getting in and out (I can do it my self but it doesn;t half take some doing!) I just need to increase the arm hole diameter as that is quite restrictive in arm movements but other than that it's very flexible :).

I adore this dress, and you're going to look fantastic in it :). I love the way you have made the corset - it's going to give the dress a nice shape.

Each time you make a collar or bodice or something out of Worbla, I ask you 'Is it comfortable?'. And you always tell me it's fine. I don't know how you do it, but you have amazing skills!
