Nathan Drake (Desert) - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Information

Uncharted has to be one of my favourite gaming series of all time so it would be rude not to do a cosplay based around this.

Unfortunately this year my partner and I don't have the time to make our cosplay as we are occupied with work and planning our wedding but we still want to cosplay this year.

So we decided to do a simple cosplay for this year using items you can buy off the shelf at clothes stores.

Cosplay Progress - 5

Over the long weekend I was able to find sometime to dirty up the clothes I'd bought for my cosplay. In the end I used face paint & baby oil to give the effect of dirt and sweat.

I didn't want to go over the top with the dirt look as this particular costume for Nathan Drake takes place in the desert. I've done the trousers in a similar way and I think it looks okay :)

Bring on MCM!!

Cosplay Progress - 4

With MCM being very close now and please to say that I've now got everything to carry out my Nathan Drake cosplay.

I've decided to go with the 'dirty look' so I've ordered a few things to help me achieve the look I'm after. Fingers crossed they will be with me in the next few days so I can experiment.

Cosplay Progress - 3

I received my shoulder holster rig & bandolier over the weekend and I'm over the moon with it.

If you are in the market for a high quality holster or any similar leatherwork I highly recommend speaking with John at Pistol Leather (http://www.pistolleather.co.uk/) He specialises in old west leatherwork but is more than happy to try other things.

The craftsmanship is outstanding and the attention to detail is magnificent. John was able to create what you see from a series of screenshots from the game and photographs found on the internet.

Overall its a stunning piece of craftsmanship and I'm so pleased that I commissioned John to create it.

I would of loved to have ago doing it myself but my time is taking up at the moment with work & wedding plans :)

Cosplay Progress - 2

Time for another update I feel :)

I had a surprise email from the leather craftsmen with photographs of the finished rig. Was not expecting to see this complete for another month so it came as a little shock. Expecting to receive it sometime this week, can't wait!

I've also now got hold of a replica gun to use too.

My fiancée cosplay is nearly complete now with the only things missing being:
- Press badge (need to make)
- Toy gun (probably off eBay)
- Blonde Wig

We are still debating whether or not to have a clean look to the cosplay or go down the 'dirty & worn' look to make the cosplay look more authentic. Watch this space!

Cosplay Progress - 1

We work and other events taken up my time, I thought I'll add a little journal entry where I am with my cosplay.

From the recently added photos, I've now got the ring (with engraving), leather snap belt and 'Lucky Horseshoe' buckle.

I've also found and commissioned a leather maker now to create the gun rig & bandolier to complete my cosplay :)

Its been a while but let the cosplay commence.................

Uncharted has to be one of my favorite gaming series of all time so it would be rude not to do a cosplay based around this.

Unfortunately this year my partner and I don't have the time to make our cosplay as we are occupied with work and planning our wedding but we still want to cosplay this year.

So we decided to do a simple cosplay for this year using items you can buy off the shelf at clothes stores.

As there is not much to this cosplay it wont take long to complete and have ready for the May MCM Expo.

As you can see I've already bought the following:

- Boots
- Scarf
- Henley Shirt
- Cargo trousers
- Leather cuff watch (I bought both items separate and combined)

Really looking forward to putting this together.

Watch this space for progress.
