AyaCon 2013

11th August 2013: Beads, beads everywhere! My tasks for this week include putting the finishing touches on everything before I go!

Pretty much everything is done and at a point that it's wearable, it just needs those extra bits and pieces to make it look super! I'm working on reinforcing all of my connectors and velcro'ing the shit out of every piece of armour so that it doesn't fall off!
There are so many beads in my bead-box to put on this thing, idk how I'm getting them on there in time but I'm sure I'll manage! I have Thursday off, so I can pull a sleepless night on Wednesday with these damn embellishments if need be! XD

EDIT: My chestpiece IS done, but it needs remaking after the con! I actually ran out of Worbla and had to make it in several pieces, (plus I derped up in places) so there's some fairly obvious (to me, anyway) errors with it. |: Would've corrected it, but I just don't have the time!
It'll do!

4th August 2013: My ugly face :P I mean, a detail shot of my pauldrons XD

I also have a hockey mask done but apparently I forgot to take picture of it. |||:

4th August 2013: Armour & cape progress~~~ My cape's finally fixed up! I had a few issues with motivation when it came to getting the damn thing finished, but it's finally out of the way. uvu My pauldrons are also all hooked into place, so that's another thing down!

I'm really not looking forward to making this chest armour, though. I feel like the "I have no idea what I'm doing" science dog. .__.

4th August 2013: Gauntlets! Worbla's certainly new to me, but I'm loving it! ;v; I'm fast picking up how to use this stuff and I'm in love.

This is one of my finished gauntlets. uvu They're both done now, along with the pauldrons~

25th July 2013: Unf. Dat Worbla. Here, have an updated wig (~*~with super bishounen bangs~*~), my Worbla, and a Heat Gun!

The latter is obviously NOT going anywhere near my new wig. XD

Time to get making that armour! It's my first time using any kind of thermoplastic, so it should be interesting. :P

23rd July 2013: Waiting on supplies... With only three weeks or so away, it's time for that pre-con rush!! XD
Anywho, I'm currently waiting on my boots (which will be edited with some gold paint and beads and things), Worbla (and a heatgun to heat it up with) and a few trims.
I've also ordered a new wig, since it's been over six months since I did the last one and I now have different ideas on how I want it styling. XD

In other news, I finally found my black turtleneck for the undershirt! This is fantastic, since I made another undershirt and the fabric wouldn't breathe at all so I scrapped it sdfsdjfgsdf.

18th June 2013: Sewing pleather is not fun. unu I know, it doesn't look like much progress. XD I've been making minor changes to the cape, making sure it hangs in a nice way. I think I've got it figured out.

I'm also trying to think up a way of rigging up my cape, pauldrons and chest armor. I don't want anything sewn onto the shirt because it feels restrictive and makes things harder to put on/off. Some pleather strapping seems to be the way to go. The cape drags it back slightly because it's so damn heavy, but that'll correct itself when my armor is there to counterweight it.

As much as I love the poofy sleeves of my work shirt, it's not staying. I was just too lazy to take it off. XD

Also, I still can't find my turtleneck. I'll probably end up just making one.

6th June 2013: More things! Next up: Frilly pants and a hockey mask!

Not happy with the armour. My choice of paint was a poor one, (plus the armour is WRECKED from a house move earlier this year) so I'm going to start again and back the foam with fabric instead, add trimmings etc... Or maybe try experimenting with some Worbla. I need an excuse to play with that stuff. u v u

That cape is so heavy now that it's mostly complete. * o * The tassles are tacked on with pins for now because I don't know if I should decorate the back further or leave it as-is. I'll give it a think.

Aaaaand I added a sword into the mix, because I'm apparently planning on bringing an entire arsenal with me. xD Autocrossbow next, maybe?

5th March 2013: And finally, a pose for the ladies. Sometimes I just cannot help myself.

Next up is armor and to finish up my cape, both of which are already half done. Will post images when I get the shoulderpads done and get the attachments sorted out.

In addition to the tunic, I have some gauntlet-thingies done too, but I never got a picture of them. |: Must remember to do that.

EDIT: AND A SWORD. Wow, why do I have so many props planned for this?
Stoppit, self. You cannot carry around an entire plethora of weapons. You don't have mysterious space-pockets like these characters do.

5th March 2013: Collar details. The collar stands pretty well by itself. I made it pretty darn thick.

Don't know how I'll handle how thick this bloody costume is in August, but ey well.
I suffer for my art.

5th March 2013: Eyyyyyy sexy ladies. Tunic test. That cape is nowhere near the finished product, I just put it there to see how it would look.

4th March 2013: Chainsaw base. Given it a bit of weathering since this shot. Not sure if it needs something more... Part of me doesn't know whether to have this as a prop or to make a spear. asdashgdfhgfdahs, I love them both so much but carrying two props about it painful. |:

9th January 2013: Ribbon/ponytail detail. Decided to go for a sort of twisty ponytail thing. It looks pretty fancy and Edgar-esque, idk.

There are now two of the bow pictured, but I only had one when I took this image. xD

20th December 2012: Wig test Still needed better ribbons, but I got a better idea of what the fringe would be like in the end. :3 Plus, I had a chance to practice my flirty eyes~~~~
