Meiling Li - CardCaptor sakura

In Progress

"Meiling is Shaoran Li's cousin and also his fiancée. As children living in Hong Kong, they both trained in martial arts under the tutelage of Wang Wei. In coming to Tokyo, Meiling intends to help Shaoran gather the Clow Cards. She is well-meaning despite her immaturity, and devoted despite her rash attitude. Her view of Sakura changes from rival to valued friend as the series progresses. When she briefly returns to Tomoeda, she acknowledges Sakura as the person Syaoran Li loves and calls off their engagement. This moment shows not only how much Meiling has matured, but also how much she cares for him, as she gives up what she has held dear for most of her life in order for him to be happy. Although Meiling is heartbroken, she supports and helps to progress Sakura and Syaoran's kindling relationship, out of love for both of her dear friends.
Unlike Shaoran, Meiling has no magical abilities, relying solely on her physical fighting abilities and a healthy dose of pride. She has shown great skill with martial arts, at one point even battling on equal footing with the Fight card."

Wow. The costume is amazing, and this looks to be shaping up to be one adorable cosplay. But then Meiling is adorable, so that would happen.

Start of the costume

My friend Amy started making this costume but then decided not to finish it and offered it to me instead. The majority of the dress is complete it just needs a few details finishing. I love the sleeves! It's a bit tight on me at the moment but I am working on loosing some weight.
