Information

Because I am completely insane, I decided three weeks before Amecon that I wanted to make this for the ball. On top of two other costumes, one of which I only started actually cutting out yesterday...

Remind me why I do these things to myself?

Anyway, so the Keele Hall photoshoot opportunity was just too good to miss to not have a shot at making this. I used Butterick 5603 (it was in the sale, 40% off XD), I had to modify it by lowering the waistline to make it empire rather than a-line, and I also added sleeves. I used a really heavyweight cotton to give it the robotic stiffness that I'm after. Unfortunately this really restricted my mobility with the narrow sleeves and I had quite the fabric rash on my arms after wearing it! I used a hoop skirt and some tulle netting to floof out the skirt a bit.

The shirt is a M&S schoolgirl shirt which I sewed a dagger collar over the top of. The cravat was made from white polycotton and the central bead from fimo. The wig is Chibi's Hetalia Italy wig which I trimmed the fringe and back of. Because of the wig style I had to be really careful to kirby grip the hair at the nape of my neck into submission, but unfortunately a few bits escaped which I had to photoshop out of the pictures.

Overall I was really pleased with this costume, especially the wig, and given it was thrown together in a couple of weeks it turned out great and I got some fab photos!
