Ariel (Under the sea ;)) - The Little Mermaid (Disney)

Rushed last minute costume for my good friends 80s birthday party!

Always wanted a excuse to be Ariel and this was the perfect opportunity :D

I plan on adding bits here and there to make it better!

@ TLMFanGabriel awh thanks very much!:) ill take a pic of the material i used and upload it here so you can see the detail close up, i just got it from this fabric shop near where i live they didn't seem to have a name on it but if you need any i could ring and ask them the name :) xx

Where did you get the fish scale fabric? I'm looking for something like this for a costume I've got it elasticated?

Louscious posted on 20 February, 2012 - 18:45
@ Wyrdsister hiyer no its not elasticated, it has abit of give to it, i got it from a local fabric shop called Dainty fabrics, it was quite cheap too its lovely fabric! tho it does look like it would tear under too much strain so you might need to line it. If you want i can ring the shop and ask the name of it? :) xox

Ariel costume

This was really fun to wear!
the tail/skirt was made from this fab blue and green scaley material that was only £4 a metre! i fastened it with three cute blue buttons at the side making a sarong type skirt!
i also bought some mesh type green material with diamondy bits on to add to the split side and the top but unfortunately there was no time to sew it on! :(
i plan on adding bits here and there when i have the time :)
