Ranka Lee (Episode 1 Yellow Dress) - Macross Frontier

Not an easy costume but not massively difficult either. I managed to sharply reduce costs by using material I already owned. The Yellow part of the dress was created using an old yellow sheet, the offcuts of which were used to make the scarf. As with my last costume the patterns were created by me as I went along but I don't believe it has suffered because of that. The dress is fastened using a zip recovered from a skirt that had become too small for me.
The shoes were created using an old pair of wellington boots which I painted brown using acrylic paint. I then affixed pieces of brown fabric using heavy duty craft adhesive to form a pattern. As the boots are never shown too closely in the anime I used artistic license to create my own design.
I made Ranka's phone using an old green t-shirt sewn together to create a sort of sock this was then filled with pudding rice and the ends were sewn of by hand. the features were created using red and black felt and the limbs were created using two pieces of fabric affixed together using the heat and bond technique to give them more strength.

Expo finished for another year :(

Unfortunately for me an accident the day before MCM Expo left me with a broken toe which meant I had to take crutches to Expo. Still my crippledness did come in handy in some areas; one of the stewards felt sorry for me and so i was the first person at MCM to get Vic Mignogna's signature (Pictures to follow). All in all a great day XD

Wig has arrived XD

Thankfully the wig has actually arrived and I am pleased to say that it is beautiful. This costume is officially complete.

Will it or will it not arrive that is the question

So I finally got around to ordering my wig today and what happened? Milanoo.com decided to spaz out and refuse to let me buy the wig I have been stalking for months. Curse you Milanoo. After many attempts I had to admit defeat and find another wig :(

Now comes the problem the wig that I have decided on comes from www.ecrater.com a website that sources its products from quite a few independent sellers. my lovely wig is being supplied by a person in Canada who according to the information supplied by paypal boasts a rather odd collection of names Stella and Shenguan Lin being the two provided. While this would not normally be a problem I have to admit to being slightly concerned with Her location considering the wig only cost me £18.10 and I was not charged for shipping. Surely shipping from Canada to England costs more than £18. Anyway all this has got me wondering as to whether the product was actually legit and left me questioning whether my lovely wig will even arive at all.
