Medusa (evil broomstick witch version) - Soul Eater

sorry reiss, no tsubacki for you, i'm doing this one because its fairly easy and i have all the bits i need aready

so far i have made a start on the broom,

i found an old kids broom in my mums atic that i cut the head off and attached it to a larger pole for the handle

then i made a twisted chickenwire base for the head of the broom (the bit that overaps the bristles) and used brown tape to secure it in place and to cover the whole thing

i used intelocked card for the spear end and again covered it in brown tape,

then i paper mache'd ofer both ends and am no waiting for it to dry

as soon as its dry i'll see how durable it is and if i can paint it or if i need more mache layers

update 05/09/08
ok broom is all painted and cool looking big thanks to my mum and mikey for putting up with my messyness whilst doing this
(which i still havent completely cleared up but i promise i will)

i have tack stiched the trouser section and the top section so i can get them on but need to make them both more fitted and sew them together and insert the zip,

i decided to make the outfit as an all in one which is a little more difficult but still managable it just means i'll have a hidden zip in the side and will have to "wiggle" my way into it

i have the wig all sorted, one that i got for my light elf and then decided wasnt long enough works perfectly for medusa

You did a fantastic job on this costume and annoyingly it took you next to no time, and you even made the broom which i havnt seen anyone make as of yet XD I dread to think how many times you unpicked the zipper being such a perfectionist and through listening to my bad advice lol :P The outcome was Amazing great job i really love this cos :)

You were an amazing Medusa. ^^ The costume is amazing, nd all your poses were spot on too. Those group photoshoot pictures with the stein car are pretty epic. When did you all get together and do that? I hope the SE group pics taken later in the day that I got to be a part of are equally as nice. ^^

the story so far

ok, so so far i have made a jumpsuit and a hood, (although the hood is not yet attached) i used a normal trouser pattern drew my own for the top and hood, i I machine tacked the trousers to the top together in a kinda "V" shape front and back i didnt want a huge zip on show so i put a hidden one in the side going from under the arm down over the hip , once on (after a struggle) mike and i decided the arm holes need to be larger and the zip opening should come down lower so i can get into it easier (at the moment i have to give myself a super wedgie and near snap my neck to get inside it) so... i have un picked the zip and will re-site that tonite and hopfully will get the arm holes a bit bigger (and with miked lovely assistance the right shape) i'm going to leave the hood off until i've made the rest of the outfit just in case.
