Alexial (Artbook outfit) - Angel Sanctuary

| Angel Sanctuary is without a doubt my favourite manga, Alexial being one of my favourite characters from it. I chose this outfit to go alongside my friend's Rosiel costume, matching in PVC shinyness! This was my first encounter with PVC, and not counting the tiny bits on Hwaorang's top, my last. I hate the stuff! It sticks, it stretches the wrong way and is generally a pain. Add that to a first time making a corset, and it wasnt very fun. Its a shame that the wig actually hides all the details on the corset as well, but I did have all the buckles and laces on it :D The most expensive parts where the wig and the boots, as I bought thigh-highs from Camden market rather than trying to make bootcovers. The wings were a somewhat failure unfortunately. I worked with a friend to design the frame underneath, which he then made out of various parts of window frames (dont ask :P) and pipes for me - they do actually open and give about a 8ft wing-span, however we ran out of time and couldnt make the covers to go on them. Add the problem of our feathers getting stuck at customs, so we had to use fur and tried to cut shapes out to give the impression of feathers! Not happy with the final result, but it was my first pair of wings, and I do intend to use the frame again at some point for another costume :D |
