Jiraiya - Naruto

Just a simple Jiraiya costume. I used a kimono dressing gown for a jacket pattern and just fettled the trousers myself. I added some of the mesh to a black tee-shirt neckline. The shoes were plain wooden flip-flops which I sprayed red. I made card handguards and covered them with matching green fabric.

The scroll was easy too - just a card tube covered with fabric and a red rope strap. The tube had end-caps, which had aerosol caps attached and sprayed black. these were just pushed back into the ends, nice and neat!

The wig was a short white wig, which stood up well. I added strips of a cheap white wizards wig ( I cut it up and hand stitched them into the short wig base).

The only part I bought was his headband.

I really enjoyed wearing this costume, it was just so comfy and my feet didn't hurt all day!!

Ha! You even covered his, uh, literature, and the frog is the perfect finishing touch for Jiraiya. Great costume. Looking at your uploads in general it's obvious you're skilled with textiles, you make beautiful work, and your props look great too. Glad I ran into your page!
