I decided to make this costume as I am a huge Firefly fan.

I made the dress with help from my mum. We spent three hours attaching the nailheads one evening!

The fabric was a very lucky find: after an unsuccessful trip to a big local fabric store, we happened to pop into a bargain warehouse on the way home and found the perfect fabric for under £5 (for both layers). I found the boots on eBay and got a wig from a local shop.

The weapons were made for me by Ruxtano (

Thanks for the comments :) really happy with how the dress turned out. Got to make the weapons for next time I wear it, and get a better wig.

very nicely done ^^. I don't suppose you'll be wearing it on the sunday of LFCC? Cause that's when me and my friends are doing a Firefly group and would be cool to get some pics with you

Only just seen the comment above. I will be wearing it tomorrow. Would be great to meet up with some other Firefly cosplayers :)

Progress Journal

Update: Dress finished! (Posted 30th June 2011)

I have finished making the dress (with the help of my lovely mother). We spent the entire evening putting the studs on, so so many of them!

I have a wig, just got to sort it out a bit. I'll get a photo once I've got it all done.

Unfortunately, I won't have the weapons when I wear this at LFCC next weekend.
