Yuffie Kisaragi (Advent Children outfit) - Final Fantasy VII

AmeCon 2007

My friend Jake first suggested that I should cosplay Yuffie, and the more I thought about it, the more the idea grew on me. To me she is an interesting, fun and energetic character, and definitely the sort of girl who can take care of herself - and I'm drawn to cosplaying those characters who can!

Despite not having a large role in the film (we can say that about most of the original FFVII 'supporting cast' of characters actually!), Yuffie's small part and good humour struck a chord with me, and I liked the look of her outfit. So I decided to make it for Amecon 2007, a fantastic UK convention which has just been and gone. ;_;

The part that was the most fun to make was definitely the sleeveless jacket. I was worried that all the zips would make it difficult and in a way they did, but I learned so many new sewing skills from doing it, and I was really pleased with the finished result. The least fun part was the boots!! They took forever to make and I had lots of problems with them. But in the end they looked okay!
