23rd August 2011: Of Progress, Hair Clips and Fabric Paint. Considering I haven't done a journal update before, I figured now would be the time to start!
I really am amazed at how all this is coming together. Still, I have quite a bit left, but but it's looking hopeful that this might turn out ok.
Excluding all the things I have bought, I currently have completed the necklace and hair clips, out of polysterene balls and a lot of primer, and fimo. The skirt is my main project at the minute, as the top will only take two minutes. The front panel is in the process of being embroidered and appliqued right now, but as it's driving me up the wall I'm taking a break and painting the pattern on the bottom of the skirt. It's not as time consuming or tedious as I assumed it would be, but Dylon paint is particularly difficult to get an even consistency with. Other than that, it's like a dream. I'm hoping to finish, let it dry and sew in the lining tomorrow. Honestly I' be surprised if this takes me more than a week to finish.
I'm pretty happy with the progress, which is surprising for me!
