Alice (Asylum) - American McGee's Alice

This is a character from a video game. I take self halm and mental illness very seriously. This is just acting!

USED: Photoshoot with SilverEyedPsycho - February 2011
Oxford meet up - June 2011
Around my house - October 2011
Sunday, MCM Expo - October 2011 (plus Photos with Manga Girl and Alyx)

I was going to keep all my versions of Alice in one page... But the more I thought the more I realised it was a bit tidier to have them separate. Although the character is the same person, the way you 'cosplay' each version is different. Plus I will be 'retiring' my older (2004-2010) version.. well changing it really. (see my other costumes for details)
This could get messy.

I finally got a push to make these two versions (Wonderland and Asylum) when SilverEyedPsycho (on Deviantart) asked me to model for her, so I jumped at the chance and the few days before I got the fabrics. Then made, the dress (wonderland), the gown (asylum) and the new knife. SO glad I did, and I can not Thank her enough for taking the photos!!! I love them, and I hope people like them too. American did ;) hehe

So, here is Alice in her Asylum gear with Mr Rabbit (he was made in 2006).

Will write more soon..........

Quite a disturbing costume. The rabbit and burnt photo are a nice touch

Alice will be attending May Expo.... with a few .... friends?

few changes..

I cut some bits on the open edges of the gown with some mini scissors. Only a few bits here and there I thought it made it look a bit worn.. But not too much. I didn't want to go over the top with it. I will be added 'blood' stains to the bandages on the day as I never put them on the same. (the stains won't match up)
However, I put some of the 'blood' (I use various colours of nail polish) onto my wrist and then rubbed some onto the gown where my wrist would be if laying down or when it's hanging. Again I didn't want to go over the top with this. I wanted just a little bit. I actually like it.

I found some old socks in my fabric boxes, I'd made them into arm warmers years and years ago.
The toes were cut off and holes for my thumbs.
Basically, I tured them inside out, sewed along the middle, doubled them up, used mini scissors to catch/cut holes in various places, then used some black sand stuff to make them look sooty/old.

*thinks* notes to self.

Do I really want to walk around in bare feets through expo........ I might wear some black and white socks, but make them holey, sotty and/or a bit burnt.

My friend is drawing something for me which is going to be awesome! But not sayng what :p and I thought actually I could go to the art tables and drew one of the images that Alice drew in the asylum of what she saw in wonderland. I'll take some charcol. But I'll have to practise first... :/ Need to practise drawing in character too... *thinks*

I need to put some blood and a bit of soot on the gown......

I wish my partner was doing the certain costume with me.. but I don't think he's going to. He might if I finish it and MAKE him ;) He only need to carry a clip board!!! And follow me around. lol
