Information

I saw this film today and have fallen head over heels with the costuming and the film in genral, it's so beautiful, in every aspect.
When I was younger I ALWAYS wanted to be a ballerina, and dance the Swan Queen in Swan Lake, but I gave up ballet for drama later on, So i'm sorta living out my mini-dream here.
Also, this'll fit nicely in my portfolio i'm building :D

I'M THE SWAN QUEEN.

BECAUSE I'M A LAZY SHIT THIS IS NOW FOR LFCC 8D

Ooh wow! this is gonna be such a pretty cosplay ^^ - the film is so creatively done but a tad explicit at times - nevertheless great ^^ can't wait to see this

Best wishes with your White Swan costume. :) I did an article on making a pancake tutu (for my Princess Kraehe cosplay). If the starch doesnt hold your tutu well enough, a proper panckake tutu is not that hard to make. Article Link - http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/tutorials/tutu

Progress Journal

progress~ (Posted 4th February 2011)

So i've started pinning and darting a base top and the skirt onto my dummy at the moment, hopefully sewing this soonish(i'm too lazy to get up nowD:)
I've run out of interfacing and netting now, so this is just the front.
The netting is looking too poofy at the moment as I haven't starch sprayed it into shape yet.
I've also started on the bases for the headpiece, just need to bulk order my feathers and begin on them.
(see main page)

Fabric and Starting off (Posted 25th January 2011)

I've been hunting around for a fabric on the net to use for the bodice, and this (picture related) seemed to be the nicest one out there, I haven't seen it in person yet, as it's down in Brighton, but I hope to be going down there soon enough.
I've also been looking at Ballerina tutu's for a base, and I've yet to come across one that didn't cost me £35, so i'm going to have to make my own.
I've decided I won't be using blocked shoes if I can help it (this is my decision at the moment) as they ruin your feet if you're not used to them and I have to get them fitted by a specialist, So I hope to be using normal ballet flats and adding the ribbon to them.
