13th August 2013: Front of wig complete Once the braids were glued down I cut the excess ribbon off and cut all the excess hair left hanging at the ends. I then put the wig on and cut the fringe, I hate the fact she has a box fringe. I then cut the fringe to my length to complete the front of the wig. I still have the back bottom braid to do but that's the easy part left of this wig XD
13th August 2013: Wig progress Ok so got my wig from coscraft. Must say disappointed, it's not very thick and had to move hair around to cover the wig cap showing through. But with Ayacon being this week I can't get a replacement wig.
So I started with the braids first. Now zelda s braids are nice and thick and with all wigs there nowhere near thick enough to do thixk braids. So the options were add millions if wefts till stupidly thick or stuff do e in between the braids and hidden with the hair.
Now originally I was going to use wool to make them thick in the middle but alas it didn't arrive in the mail do plan b craft foam. I cut 2 pieces of craft foam out and rolled them up, glued them together and put them between the hair . I then used elastic bands to HDTV the foam in the middle if the hair and allowed me to moce the hair around to ensure the foam base was covered up.
One that was done and ready I used hot glue and wrapped the ribon around the braids. First I wrapped the pink around and then the green over the top. Using little bits of hot glue to hold the ribbon in place.
19th July 2013: So far Once u sewed the hat up all I had to do was hem the bottom of the tunic. Which is now done so the basic outfit is finished and ready for Ayacon.
19th July 2013: The haaaaaat Ok so the skyknight girls in skyward sword have round hats but I decided to stick with the tradition tunic of the hero look and went with the original hat. Plus it's a lot easier to make. I drew out the pattern for the hat, cut it out and folded it over and pinned it to create the hat shape. All that was left was to sew it :D
19th July 2013: Sleeves After the main part of the tunic was sewn together it was time to do the sleeves, using the old sleeves from my old tunic I drew around them to get the basic shape, cut them out, then pinned them round the sleeve gaps. First sleeve was fine, second sleeve I had a couple of problems with it XD but hey if your not suffering its not cosplay
19th July 2013: Let the sewing begin I then took the tunic pattern, turned it inside out and pinned the back and front together to get the basic shape. I then also drew out the shape on the front of the tunic for the chest.
19th July 2013: Drawing out the pattern So I started this by lying the fabric out and drawing round a tunic I made a while back but never completed. This gave me the pattern i needed :)! After the pattern was drawn out I then cut it out. The tunic is made of a poly cotton and the colour is based of skyward sword Zeldas dress colour. Next time I will use a different fabric and poly cotton just sucks haha.
