Eleanor Josephine Aylward (Two Years Later) - Steampunk Original

I decided to re-design Eleanor's costume since I wasn't 100% happy with it and I ended up designing a whole new outfit for her. This is 2 years later and Eleanor has become a marks woman full time (with skill like hers it was only a matter of time before she took it from hobby to job) She loves to shoot and has become a little... lets just say "trigger happy" ^_^'
Eleanor Josephine Aylward:

Sex: Female
Age: 21
Occupation: None
Hobby: Shooting, entering contests
Status: Widow

A practical woman with a smart head on her shoulders. Don't let Eleanor's lady look fool you, she's as elegant as she is dangerous. At one time she was very happy and care-free, yet always keeping a smart head on her shoulders. After the untimely death of her husband after only a few years of marriage she changed, becoming rather un-emotional and hasn't been able to move on from his death.

She began her life in a lower middle class family, her mother was a seamstress and her father worked in a rifle factory. Her old brother also worked in the same factory as her father. She began working when she was six, helping her grandmother sell flowers in the market. Many people would stop and come over, who can't resist a cute little girl with a basket full of flowers and tight, red curls? Unfortuently her grandmother died of old age when she was 10 so Eleanor had to find other work. Her father had heard that the boss of the gun factory he worked at was looking to hire more housing staff so Eleanor went to go work in the Aylward manor at the age of 11. The young master of the house, (still don't have a name for him yet but he's 2 years older than Eleanor) fell for Eleanor straight away yet couldn't show his true feelings while his parents were around. After all it wasn't very gentlemanly to fall for your housing staff. The years past and Eleanor and (I don't have a name damn it... lets call him Bob for now 8D) finally got together when she was 18 and he 20. His parents had tried to get him together with many other ladies but non he liked more than Eleanor. Her late husband was a huntsman and both are from Winchester. In order to spend more time with him she took up being a marks (wom)man, becoming a precision shot and a keen sniper, beginning with simply shooting down fast agile birds. She was the first woman ever to compete in a sharp shooting event, not only to qualify but to go on and win the competition. This found her many adversaries among the gentry and earned both her and her husband respected status in the hunting community. Unfortuently her husband was killed by a rival marksman who was attempting to eliminate the competition for a very prestigious upcoming event.

Her rifle is light but deadly, and she has dubbed it "Rose" due to this. It has a telescope on the top and a suppressor on the end so the enemy does not detect were she it. A beautiful weapon made of a mix of wood and brass, a gun which was modified by her late husband. Although if she runs out of bullets or has to contend in close quarter battle she has a sneaky revolver hidden on her leg beneath her dress. She has nothing wrong with her vision but wears glasses to improve her sight, making it easier for her to shoot. If she ever needs to shoot a far away target her glasses are also equipped with magnifying lenses she can pull down for more distant shots.

Two years after these events and Eleanor has now taken up being a marks woman full time. She was signed up by the British Government after her fame of winning every shooting contest she has entered she now takes on missions of "taking out" persons who could threaten the jolly old country of England and her empire. Eleanor has now fully got over the death of her husband aAfter seeing the end of the rivelmen who shot her husband. This did result in Eleanor almost dying but the killer was sent to prison for life. After a speedy recovery in hospital Eleanor took a whole new direction in life and began to work again and became independent. She's become rather gun crazy after still holding onto her share of her late-husbands rifle business.

Wig: Bought from eBay. Altered by myself, just a simple cut and re-styling though.

Fascinator: Constructed out of peacock feathers, pheasant feathers and black feathers. I bought a simple hair clip and got a spare piece of suede material. I them covered the material in black feathers by sewing them on. Then I arranged and cut the peacock and pheasant feathers and sewed them on. Finally I hot glued a jewel cog I had got off an old necklace.

Glasses: Bought from eBay.

Jacket:Mae by me. I got a jacket pattern from Simplicity and bought the material from my local fabric shop. I them made the jacket using the pattern. I added a fancy hook and eye to close the jacket.

Gloves: Bought from eBay.

Corset: Bought from eBay. Cut and altered by me.

Bustle and train: Made by me. I bought a green silk fabric and cut it free hand. For the train I simple bunched up the fabric in random areas to create the shape. For the bustle at the front I simple got two pieces in a half circle shape and sewed them together.

Skirt: Made by me. I didn't use a pattern as I couldn't really find one I wanted. The waist is half straight and have elastic so I can simple fit into it.

Butt pillow: Made out of a foam base that was originally for a chair. I cut it and covered it in a white fabric because sewing on an elastic band. This made the skit at the back stick out.

Tights: Bought from eBay.

Boots: Bought from eBay.

Rifle: Comissioned and made by my friend Clone. I painted and altered it myself.

I am fond of the middle one :) the left hand side one is a quintessential steampunk one but one of the things I liked about yours and Fayes for that matter is that it looked like a whole new style but it still had probably more so the spirit of steampunk ^.- you looked very regal and I liked that ^^

Rifle update

Due to time and lack of money (I only had a £5 budget) I decided to update the rifle. It looks alittle more Steampunky now. Once I actually have spare money I will focus more on it. The original rifle was made by Clone
