Tsukiyomi Ikuto (Black Lynx) - shugo chara

I dun care what you all say, Ikuto is great.
second on my list of favourite anime/manga guys, folowing only to Kyo <3

so yeah, i luuuurve him.

decided to do him to the cosplay tea party Neko-chan is helping to organise. ^^
my first Crossplay! w00t! ^^ and also first cosplay with trousers. looking forward to it. but not to wearing all those dark colours in the sun (if it is sunny) but one must suffer to pull off a good cosplay! ^^

Fabric and Thread: £14
Ribbon: £6
Craft Foam: Free already had
Silver Paint: Free Already had
Zips: free already had
Wig: £24ish??

The Top:
the top was a bit fiddly as i got it wrong at first and made it waaaaay too small. but that's what you get when you use a stretchy top as a template. ¬3¬
anyways. i added a few bits to it to make it bigger and then it fitted quite well! ^^
i painted a long zip silver, made sure it worked and used that as the silvery zip i already had was too short. T~T
for the collar i just cut a shape out that was on the fold and used that. i then found after putting the top onn that it was too big and needed to be shortened but a bit of chopping and hemming forted that out. the buckle is made out of craft foam, black painted silver. and the big hanging things are just funy shaped bits of fabric sewn together, ironed and sewn into the houlder seams when the tope was first made. ^^
the cross i velcroed on for easy getting into and the zip is fully functional, which is a big thing for me as alot of my cosplays and clothes don't have openings of any sort. ^^
The cross is just cut out of foam borad, painted silver and velcroed to the top for easy.... getting off.

Ears and Tail:
the ears were easy. all i did was cut a wide bottomed curved triangle out o stiff fabric, i then cut slighty bigger shapes out of pink and blue fabric and sewed them to make a pocket the stiff stuff could fit into. i then sewed it shut and sewed the two wide edge corners together to make an opened adged cone. then i glues them both in the right places on a head band. the opend edges face onto my head and i will pull some hair through the gaps so the ears look more "natural". ^^

The tail was just a tube of fabric with a rounded end stuffed with wadding. it's hard to make tails look like tails as they tend to be a bit limp. i was originally planning on putting wire through the whole length of it to make it support itself. then i realised that i wouldn't be able to sit down at all. DX my back is bad so i can't not sit for a whole day! T~T so i settled for a small bit to give the tail a kink in the end. >w<

Just a simple trouser shape that i pinned and sewed to the right width around my legs. when that was done i added the ribbon and more craft foam for the buckles. easiest part of the cosplay. ^^

Arm Warmers/Gloves:
I started off by making the claws. obviously i didn't want them as long as in the anime, they'd get in the way so i settled for them being shorter. i cut the shapes out of foam board and painted them silver. the silver paint that never got used on my room has come in real handy for this cosplay! ^^
I then cut a wide rectangle out of the fabric and soon found out it was too short to go around my arm. i cut bigger ones and they were still too short but by this time i was running out of fabric for the trousers so i had to make do. i sewed the ribbon onto them before sewing them into long tubes. i sewed them together part way then hemmed the rest and put hooks and eyes on to the gaps. this way i can get them done up and they also stay up where they're too small. ^^ it was an ingenius mistake!
i then pinned them to the right shaped and sewed them again so they fit around my wrists right. i then got my foam board "claws" and hot glues a piece of craft foam to the under side as support. i originally intended to put button holes in the fabric but as i had already sewn them up it wasn't easy so i stuck with my other idea ofusing the craft foam as a base and hot gluing the claws the it. it's worked prety well. i then added the "buckles" also made out of craft foam (painted) and the silver dots up the outside of the clawed glove and let it dry. and there we have the gloves.

photos to come soon! ^^
