| Decided, that nearly 4 years later, this cosplay needed to be redone, and done properly this time. Nemacon came up so I decided I should take an Anime cosplay, rather than my recent film/TV costume ventures, and this is what resulted. I'd been gathering spring-clip earrings for this NANA repeat for ages, and being the geek i am, I already had the 2 Vivian Westwood rings and the necklace, so that was definatly the easiest part. The most difficult was finding the right skirt. The first time I did this costume I used a random tartan dress i'd bought, but that definately does not fit me and was not accurate enough to be allowed. I was looking for a perfect hybrid between the live action film (in which the under mesh is clearly visible) and the springy quality of the anime, since the bottom half of the costume is not seen in the image i was using for reference. The main thing I learnt from the costume is that Middlesbrough is not the place for a skirt that short. Next year I'm choosing a much more practical gophering outfit. |
