18th January 2011: Shoes, Patterns & Make-Up I've been thinking about this costume a lot recently, and have decided that I will be making it myself from a pattern I'm doing myself.
Like all of my patterns, I'm modifying it from a basic bodice pattern made to my measuremants. The plan is to make a halter-neck bodice that stops at the hip, and add a skirt made out 6 or 8 panels of fabric. The panels are wide to allow for 'poof' that will be supplied by either a petticoat or a tulle underskirt. It's my first time making a pattern like this so I'll probably make a Toile out of Calico first.
As for the shoes, I'm going to re-use my heels I wore for Zatanna. They're plain black and faux-suede, so they're simple enough to match my dress, and if need be I can add white ribbon to keep the theme consistent. I wanted to upload a photo of the shoes so you can see but I can't find my camera anywhere *sadface*
Finally, I think I've decided to wear make up for this. I'll have pink nails to match my hair, and pink emphasis on my eyes. Eyeliner, too, maybe, but I want to look fairly simple and I'm not going for an overly sexy look- just pretty and feminine :)
