Giygas (Kigurumi) - Earthbound

I never had a chance to play Earthbound until recently. No export for Europe, Nintendo decided. We only heard of its existence because of Smash Bros. Shame, as it's an AMAZINGLY good game. Try and track it down and play to the end - then you'll see why.

For the most part, Earthbound is a colourful, witty and supposedly kid-friendly RPG. Then you have the final boss: Giygas. An alien so powerful it destroyed its body and mind, and has no control over its abilities. Just listen to the battle music to get a feel of what he's like...:
Talk about mood whiplash.

Giygas has no physical form, only that swirling image of a screaming head, and he's only seen from one angle. I've seen people cosplay him by simply hanging a cardboard cut-out over their front, but I wanted to actually BE Giygas, not have him hanging around my neck.

My initial plan was to wear Giygas' 'head' as a hat, and have the trail spiralling around me. To obtain the Giygas look, I'd add some 'handles' to it, and the rest of the costume would just be all black. However, I have absolutely no sewing skills so I wouldn't know how where to start.

So I turned to Custom Kigurumi ( I sent them the reference pictures, plus my original plans for the hat. It took a while due to a late delivery of fabric, but I finally have a cosplay of the Universal Cosmic Destroyer. They even included the grab-handles, so I can complete the look!

Awesome! Wow, I never thought I'd see a Giygas cosplay.
