Costume Information

Cost : Not too expensive ... mostly material ... nothing specialised
Time Taken : A long time

Let's see, let's see now ...

The hat gave me a lot of trouble to begin with as I couldn't think how to make it - I was trying to devise some way of making it out of segments and other rubbish ideas when one day I walked into Top Girl, found a white beret and shed tears of joy! I turned it inside out (made it a tiny bit poofier) and attached a stuffed white ball of felt on the back. The leaf ear things were also felt, glue-gunned to on of those claire's accessories headbands with the springs.

The wig was just a cheap thing from a joke shop that I cut and glued the circle bits (which looked messy >.<) Wings: again, it was claire's to the rescue with their hallowe'en party wings which we bent out and re-covered with this fine netty stuff. It was really good cos they were sturdy and could bend back into shape - they got bent to buggery at the con >.<

The bag was felt with a bit of stuffing to make it rounder. I made it a really bag cos it's really useful to carry your phone and money IN your cosplay! The dress was pretty simple. Lots of white material and elastic. I put some glue round the bottom in an attempt to stop it fraying. I was gonna make the top and skirts popper together, but when I raised my arm they just popped apart ... so I sewed it all together and put a zip in the side.

The bow was my idea of having a pillow on my back for my own selfish comfort :) it was rather crudely attached round my waist with three lengths of elastic which meant it bounced up and down a lot when I moved.

I love the bloomers!! Fun to make, fun to wear n.n The shoes were slippers with felt 'gloves' glued to them. This is a fact I forgot one day and went out in the rain ....

Also, I made the hat, gloves and top to the Salt cosplay (the orange and yellow one). The gloves were a pain cos I can't make them so they had to be mittens, the top was simple enough, but I broke myself making that damn hat! I'm quite proud of how it turned out, altho gutted the rim is the wrong colour.

I'm reaaaaally touched that people like this cosplay! I'm glad I can spread that little scrap of joy lol. I just so happened to meet my finace while wearing this, so ... it works! *thumbs up*

You three were awesome, I wish I'd gotten more photos - especially while the pencil was still working ;)

I can credit a couple of future costume ideas to said pencil though..
