Zero Kiryuu - Vampire Knight

Planned for sometime in 2011.

I had briefly considered cosplaying as Zero but wasn't particularly going to go ahead with it until my friend started reading the manga and decided that she'd like to cosplay as Yuki. I'm more of a casual fan of Vampire Knight and it has started to get cosplayed quite a lot now too, but if I have a friend cosplaying as Yuki then I now have more reason to go as Zero and can make it another joint cosplay.

Heh, this will unintentionally be the fourth Miyano Mamoru character I've cosplayed as ( and my second vampire ) ^_^

Now Planned for the Friday of KitaCon 2011 for our Vampire Knight group with Ichigo-chan as Yuki and Spirit of the Stage as Kaname. Zero has quite a few different layers to his outfit, so I hope that I can afford to get the cosplay together in time...

Now on hold for the time being since the commissioner let me down on this... ¬_¬
Kinda annoying since the main reason I wanted to do this cosplay was for our KitaCon group.

Finally completed and worn for the Saturday and Sunday of May Expo 2011. I was given a refund for my waistcoat which had been made smaller than I'd asked for and I used the money to get it altered locally ( guess I was lucky that it was a fairly normal-looking piece of costume... ). It was quite well-recieved at the Expo as I found myself asked for photos and hugs a bit more than usual and I was complimented on the tattoo ( though I feel I could have drawn it better ).

We had a big Vampire Knight meet-up on the Sunday and took some fun photos which included the whole group jumping up in the air at once and did some mexican waves as well since there were a lot of us.

I found that my wig was pretty thin and one side kept flicking out in an annoying way instead of laying flat ( it was originally one that I had been mistakenly sent instead of an L wig, so I hadn't chosen it specifically for Zero ). So I think that I will have a good look for a better wig before I next wear this cosplay, though all of my other cosplay slots for this year are already full so it will most likely be 2012 when I re-wear him ( unless some kind of Cosplay Ball event is announced for this year ).

Zero Kiryuu is an excellent choice, can't wait to see it ;) I am planning an Ichiru Kiryuu cosplay in the future. Have too much on my hands for now.

Thanks! ^_^ Aww I'd really love to see an Ichiru, Zero and Ichiru are my favourite characters in Vampire Knight. In fact I've never seen him cosplayed before. It would be great if we both did our cosplays to the same event and got pics together ( though yes, I have too much on my hands for this year as well ).

Me and Grandma Bob decided to do Yuuki and Kaname for KitaCon 2011 on Friday, will you beable to get Zero done by then?

Yeah, you did mention that. I will try but in all honesty I can't guarantee anything until I know what my circumstances will be. I've filled in that form and am waiting to hear back from them so I'm hoping that I'll at least have a little money coming in by the end of the year.

I loved all you VK photos from the Expo. I'm so jealous you had fun with such an amazing group.

Awww, thanks! ^^ Yeah, it was a fun meet-up. We need to do a Zero and Yuki shoot if we have some time free next year (and when I've replaced the wig with one I'm happier with).

Obtained Improved Wig

Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the wig that I originally used for my Zero cosplay. I was focusing mostly on the mess-up that had happened with the measurements of the uniform that I had ordered, so the wig became something of an after-thought as I knew that I already had a grey one that I had been mistakenly sent instead of an L wig and had been allowed to keep. It turned out that that wig was too thin and also flicked strangely on one side.

However I have now received a new one that I picked out carefully specifically for cosplaying as Zero, so I'm now happy to re-wear him whenever I can next fit him in. The wig is much fuller and also has some darker strands mixed into it which I particularly like. I already have other plans for May Expo and AmeCon and I won't be attending Kita this time, so I'll probably next wear him if any small day events pop up on the calendar.

School Uniform Ordered

Day Class uniform has now been ordered and is expected to arrive a reasonable number of days before KitaCon, so that's the main part out of the way at least =D
