Aw screw typing that out, it's a goddamn paper.
Well, I've been attending conventions since I was 16, but didn't really get involved in the more otaku ones until about 2 years later. Since then, I thought that it'd be awesome to do cosplay, but doubted if I'd ever get into it myself, since most of the costumes I saw were more works of art.
With this in mind, my first costume was an ebay purchase. As a result, I never entered into any competitions, believeing that I didn't have the right to stand alongside other who'd poured so much effort and dedication into ther cosplays.
Refining this belief, I have now taken to working on my first hand-made costume. It's a work in progress, and involves a lot of part sourcing, but at least it'll be something that I can finally stand tall and be proud of as an accomplishment.
Name your poison is more like it. Let's see now - video games / comic books / manga / 80's films (especially featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal). Music is something of a passion of mine / with tastes ranging from Weezer to Iron Maiden to Billy Joel to Bad Religion.
