Hey, I'm Alice - I'm a Maths student at Royal Holloway, University of London, doing my Masters currently, although I still don't know what I want to do when I finish that.
I'm a bit obsessed with Doctor Who currently, as anyone who knows me will tell you, and you would probably be able to tell the moment you stepped into my uni room due to the 8 posters, 'Vote Saxon' sign, various drawings and cards, and even a crocheted Doctor and Master... but my other fandoms include Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Ouran High School Host Club.
Other than cosplaying, in my free time I like to play my clarinet, do roleplays via MSN (as the Tenth Doctor), crochet, cross stitch, read, do baking (nom nom cake!), write fan fiction, draw when the mood takes me, take photographs and do Fencing (which is something I should really incorporate into my cosplay)...
I'm quite new to the cosplay scene, but I'm slowly learning, and looking forward to making my own costumes, rather than the bought things I've used before. I always enjoyed dressing up as a child, but I started to cosplay properly before my first MCM expo - what I thought would be an easy costume to get hold of (I would never have imagined it would be so hard to find a plain black hoodie) and have been wanting to do more ever since! I am in the process of making my first ever costume, which has been pretty successful so far!
The thing I've most enjoyed about cosplay is the people I've met, and the fun times I have with others cosplaying from the same fandom.
Conventions I've attended:
London MCM Expo May 2010 (Saturday - The Master, End of Time version)
London MCM Expo May 2011 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday - The Tenth Doctor)
Entertainment Media Show (Collectormania) October 2011 (Sunday - The Tenth Doctor)
London MCM Expo May 2012 (Friday - Tenth Doctor, Saturday - Lucy Saxon, Sunday - Ravenclaw student)
London Film and Comic Con July 2012 (Saturday - Ravenclaw student, Sunday - Tenth Doctor, possibly also Lucy Saxon, if fixed in time!)
