My name is Eileen Skopnik. Born in the UK, I'm German/Brazilian and I live in London, Surrey. I'm an actress with a love for art and fashion :)
I actually didn't know about Cosplaying up until 6 weeks before the London MCM Expo event in May 2011 and only found out about it from my Korean friend & teacher. She happened to mention that she had been making an outfit for her daughter for Expo & this inspired me so much, that I planned to go with them!
With only 6 weeks left, I had to find my 1st ever cosplay outfit quickly and
as I just finished playing" The Legend of Zelda- Twilight Princess" for the 2nd time, making a Midna- Twilight Princess, costume was what sprung to mind.
I had no idea where to start with Midna so first got supplies.. Fabrics, craft foam, clay, wooden sticks, wires & fabric paints by the gallon, xD I have a full description of how I made all individual pieces of the costume in the information of my Midna Cosplay Gallery. If anyone cosplaying Midna wants some tips, just message me :)
Making Midna* was all about trial & error, as I have no previous experience of costume making & sewing. I tought myself how to sew by hand & machine, how to make patterns and sew buttons.. ect.
After many sleepless nights and a lot of work, I finally finished Midna in 6 weeks. Although it was painful, looking back now, I truely enjoyed the whole experience.
Being at MCM Expo in 2011 was awesome and after entering the Cosplay Masquerade for the 1st time with my 1st creation & winning 1st place- best costume in the Parade was wonderful & a memory that will stay with me ALWAYS! :)
*Thank you to everyone at Expo for all of your kindness & for making Expo one of the most enjoyable places to spend a weekend*
