I'm Selph! Known as Emily to most people in the real world, but Selph to anyone who knows me well =P
I have done more cosplays than the ones shown here, promise. It's just that I never had any decent pictures of my older ones, so they remain forgotten for now =(
I am a fangirl, I confess. Hopefully not the infuriating kind though. Just the nice, 'I'd rather keep you at arm's length in case you try and glomp me' type. Harmless, really!
I am completely obsessed with anime, games and manga. I adore Tao Ren, Sora and Seto Kaiba, as many people will tell you! My other loves are the main characters of Final Fantasy VIII, who are like my big brothers and sisters~! My namesake is obviously Selphie Tilmitt - mainly because of my similarity to her in appearance (I -used- to look like her, anyway...), and in personality.
I love listening to music (mainly metal, but with the odd mixture of some J-Pop too!), drawing and writing. Also, I own your face. That's a fact.
Cosplay Bio
I first started cosplaying 2 years ago, but my passion for 'dressing up' has existed ever since I was young! I got into 'real' cosplaying after going to my first con, and realising just how fun it must be to be dressed up like your favourite character for a day. I tried it at my next con, and I was hooked. From that day forward, I was never the same =P
The thing I love most about cosplay is escapism. I think that's pretty true for most cosplayers! I like to choose characters that are as far apart from my real personality as I can get, just to see how it would feel to really be someone else. At the same time, I also like to choose to cosplay characters I adore, which is more often than not! I'm game to cosplay anyone really, as long as their outfit poses a challenge to construct and I have a great time really being them on the day!
My proudest moment and greatest achievement have been without a doubt winning the Milton Keynes Collectormania 13 after party competition. I entered as Mrs Lovett from Sweeney Todd, and came first place! Not only did I bag myself a golden pass to the next event, but I also had the privilege of dueting 'A Little Priest' on stage with Torchwood star Kai Owen. I was a very, very happy bunny =3
