Sure. It's not particularly harmful, and if it was legal it would cease being a gateway drug because people could buy it from a shop or grow their own rather than having to deal with shady characters

For, it's just sex.

Do you believe in God?
No. I just don't see ANY evidence, or any reason to believe without evidence that doesn't boil down to a circular argument (the bible says you should have faith, you should believe the bible because it's gods word, which you should believe because you have faith because the bible says you should have faith....). From talking to religious people I know, most of them seem to have had an internal revalation of some sort; one day they just KNEW(felt) belief X to be true. Unless my brain suddenly changes completely, I can;t see myself having such a revelation.


Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Absolutely. Marriage is a legal construct designed so that partners share certain rights and responsibilities, including inheritence, medical decisions, legal rights regarding children...These rights should not be denied to same sex couples, and they SHOULD call it marriage. The US gvt is legally obliged to be non religious but they still define whether someone is married in the legal sense, so legal marriage is not religious, and religions have no right to monopolise the term.


Do you think its wrong that so many Hispanics are moving to the USA?
"all those poles, coming over here with their work ethic". No. Poles in britain or hispanics in the US, if they are willing to work they should. I think the problems caused by excessive immigration would be improved immensly be tightening labour laws; prevent employers exploiting illegal workers, institute a minimum wage that provides enough money to actually live on and there will be no incentive to employ foreigners over domestic workers unless they are better at the job. And if they're better at the job, they SHOULD have it.

A 12 year old has a baby. Should she keep it?
If she has a loving family and a strong support network, and is physically capable of safely giving birth, it should be considered, but not forced on her. I don't think a 12 year old on her own is capable of bringing up a child, but if her parents are willing to effectively bring it up as a sibling, it's not likely to be more harmful than giving it away, with the guilt and regret that can be associated with that. In the absense of a good family, it would probably be better for her to give it up for adoption

Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
moot point, it already is. In the US, yes it should. If you can get married, drive and vote, you can have a couple of beers.

Should the war in Iraq be called off?
At this point, the "war" seems to mainly involve trying to keep relatively small groups from completely destroying anything left in the country. So action in Iraq should continue in a manner that minimises the risk to Iraqui civilians, after all, the war was supposed to be for their benefit. Whether that means leaving or staying is a complex political question I;m not capable of answering.

Do you believe in spanking your children?
I think a child can be spanked under certain circumstances and not be harmed by the experience. It's clear there are also bad parents out there who resort to spanking because they don't know and other ways of disciplining their kids, and terrible parents who beat their kids even if they haven't done anything wrong. I would probably attempt to avoid spanking but maybe resort to it in certain circumstnaces, for example if a three year old was going to do something dangerous, a short sharp shock will probably teach him not to do it again far better than trying to explain it to a kid that small. Wow, that was a wishy washy evasive answer wasn't it?

Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
I'd do it if I wanted to roast marsh mallows. American, British, Welsh, English. They're just a symbol, and symbols only carry the meaning you imbue them with. Unless there was someone standing nearby who was going to beat me up for doing it.

A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case. What do you think?
Locking her up isn't gonna be any worse than the punishment of knowing she killed her own kids. I feel sorry for her.
