Personal Bio

I enjoy cosplay photography at events! If I've grabbed you and you want full size images, PM me~ <3

I'm studying electronic engineering while specialising in audio and media.
Please don't mistake me as an electrician or a media studies student, that makes me very sad.

I have a passion for music and dance.
Violin and piano are my main instruments.
Ballet and jazz are my main dance forms.

Other interests include fashion, sports, languages, gaming, photography, travelling and stage crew!

I've been known for being a jack of all trades! As nerdy as it sounds, I love learning. I will happily pick up any form of activity or new skill and will pursue it up to a point when it becomes enjoyable without learning, and then I will carry that on for fun and move onto something else to learn.

Cosplay Bio

I'm ashamed to say I go to too many events! Have a provisional list of what I'll be cosplaying to upcoming events, it helps me remember what I've got planned too:

~Japan Expo~
Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier) | Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier: Sayonora no Tsubasa) | Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender) | Melfina (Outlaw Star)

~Hyper Japan~
Sayaka Akimoto (AKB0048) | Tokiya (Uta no Prince-sama) | Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier)

~Ayacon~
Asami Sato (Avatar: The Legend of Korra) | Miki Hoshii (The iDOLM@STER) | Eternal Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon) | Melfina (Outlaw Star) | Garnet til Alexandros XVII (Final Fantasy IX)

---

Developed an interest in cosplay from around 2005 but didn't actually start cosplaying properly til 2007. My first attempt at it was Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket but it was a very poor attempt with no binding or wig. I'd say my first real attempt was Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing.

I'm not very good at the whole construction process so far but I'd like to think I'm improving after every costume I make. I like learning new techniques and a good challenge, the research and planning stage is what gets me most motivated in making the costume once I've done a sufficient amount. There's also the social side of cosplay which makes all the hard work and stress worth it, I don't think I'd still be in the community today if it wasn't for all the friends I've made through cosplay.

I think my proudest moment was winning second place best Junior with "Selph" for our Shaman King cosplays at Midlands Expo '08. It was my first MCM Expo award and it made my day. My greatest achievement was probably being the solo UK qualifier for the first European Cosplay Gathering at Bunkasai '11, it allowed me to go to my first event abroad!

My dream cosplays include making a version of Princess Garnet from Final Fantasy IX that I am actually happy with. And also Wedding Ashe from Final Fantasy XII as that dress is just stunning and a real challenge to my pattern making skills. Final dream cosplay is Seth Nightroad from Trinity Blood which has been postponed for I don't even know how long any more, I really want to make the floating fence to accompany it!

I intend on remaking a lot of my older costumes as they were poorly made with little sewing experience. I feel the need to do a decent job of all my favourite characters.

I'd also really love to one day have a full La Corda d'Oro group, it's one of my favourite series! I'd like to say I would really love to be able to perform something together too but that may be pushing it a bit :P

I'M GOING TO LEVEL 2!

Mon, 09 Jul 2012 21:33:50 GMT

Passed my first year of Uni with a first! So happy. Found out this news whilst still in France as our hotel had free (crappy) Wi-Fi so managed to take a sneaky peak at facebook as it's easier to check if coursemates have their results yet rather than logging into my emails. And it was just the best surprise ever! I was expecting a 2:1 as one exam went miserably wrong, so I was unbelievably happy when I got a first!

No resits for me, which also means I will definitely be at Amecon :D
SEE YOU THERE <3
