I read a lot, fail at video games but still love to play them anyway, watch anime, and have a minor addiction to Irn-Bru. Cosplay (obviously) takes up a lot of my spare time too...
Cosplay Bio
I got interested in cosplay in 2002 from seeing photos online, and at that time had no idea of the existence of conventions in the UK. After making a bunch of costumes for the hell of it, I was interested enough in conventions to finally go to one (being 16 by then also helped) so AmeCon 2004 was my first con. I think I can accurately say it’s been downhill since then, and I have far too many costumes!

My first class today went alright, and I don’t have any others until next week. Unfortunately, I’ve got to submit a dissertation plan and get some other work done, so I’ll be busy anyway.
It was lovely and sunny this morning, and in procrastinating over my seminar work, I decided to head out for a walk and collect a parcel along the way. The parcel hadn’t turned up at the sorting office though, even although it was supposed to have by the time I went in. I hope it’s there tomorrow; I do believe it’s a wig, and I wants it!
Because Annette started it, here’s my cosplay plans for the future:
London Expo October
Saturday: Cinderella - Disney's Cinderella
Sunday morning: Karolina Dean - Runaways
Sunday afternoon: Vince Noir (Zooniverse Jacket) - The Mighty Boosh
Not an anime or video game costume in sight. It should be noted that I get to wear jeans all of Sunday. Unheard of! Comfortable, normalish clothes-based costumes! Nothing here needs much more work. Karolina is simple enough, so won’t take long - I have everything for it. Cinderella is already done, and I’ve made a new underskirt. I’ll just be experimenting with styling a different wig, and I’m going to touch up a few things, like trying to stop the skirt pleats from hiding so much. Vince is complete other than the wig (I resent having to style another one…) and a couple of accessories.

All re-wears! The lolitas are a given, Lilie is for groupness, and Esther is because this is the easiest time I’ll ever have transporting all the armour and accessories for it! I might wear something else, possibly JFA Adrian Andrews, since I’m remaking the trousers. If I’m keen, I may be remaking my Selphie dress, and can have an easy time transporting the nunchucks (I like the idea of making the most of being able to take annoying props and whatnot with less hassle than for other cons). My only other thought is Anemone. But three costumes may well be enough, so I’ve no definite plans for a fourth. Nice to have a con of re-wears.

These are all for groups, so fairly settled. As I’ve already said, Eli and I have no real enthusiasm for the old school masq idea, and would prefer to enter with our Odin Sphere costumes.

Seems as good as place as any to plonk the Haruhi group. We’ll see. And also looks like good timing for the other group XP I’m not seriously planning this far ahead though.
