Some quick tweaks and fixes

Article by Richard Perrin (PerrinAshcroft) posted Thursday 18th November 2010

Our broken Twitter integration has been bugging me for a while so I decided to have a quick look at it yesterday. Most of you have probably been getting an unhelpful "User not found" error message recently. Well now instead you should get a nice little box showing your last 5 tweets.

While I was in the code I also added a "Recent Forum Activity" section to profile overviews. Which will show the last 5 threads a user has been posting in.

Also by popular request the costume list on event pages is now ordered by series instead of character name.

I know there are more important better features you guys want for the site but this was quick stuff I did while avoiding my paying work. So hopefully you'll enjoy them anyway.

Don't be late for the ball

Article by Richard Perrin (PerrinAshcroft) posted Friday 12th November 2010

It's only two weeks now until the return of the Grand International Cosplay Ball. Running on Sunday 28th November at the Claphan Grand in London. As usual this promises to be a really great night out with an awesome set of live performances mixed in with DJ sets.

This year's event is themed around Arabian Nights so expect an Arabian Bazarr, belly dancers and a sword performance. Every year has brought new cosplay guests from around the world and this year is no exception with official Metroid cosplayer Jenni Kallberg (aka Pixelninja) from Sweden who will be showing off her brand new Varia armour!

But the real news is that right now if you buy tickets before November 20th using the discount code GB112810 you'll get £3 off the normal ticket price. So if you want to go and haven't already got your tickets then I would suggest you book now: http://www.grandcosplayball.com/tickets/index.php
