So many of you have probably now fully recovered from the recent MCM London Expo and are no doubt putting plans together for the next one in October. That and other big upcoming events such as the MCM Manchester Expo in July and Ayacon in August. If you want to get your cosplay fix before that though, there are some events happening this month.
The Brighton Japan Festival takes place from 17th June to 26th June and boasts a huge range of activities including a street festival, retro video gaming, art displays, film screenings, whiskey tasting and much more all across the centre of Brighton. Events range in price but some are free. For more informationc check the website here - http://brightonjapan.com/brighton_japan_festival_events.html
For those living further north there is Nemacon, an anime convention in its second year which is based in Middlesborough Town Hall. As well as a masquerade, the event will also host a number of cosplay tutorial and Japanese cultural panels. Tickets can be bought on the day or in advance by contacting the Town Hall direct. Further information can be found here - http://www.nemacon.org.uk
On the last weekend in June (24th - 26th) there is something for those in Northern Ireland, the well-known Q-Con which is now in its eighteenth year. Although primarly a gaming convention it does feature cosplay events, as well as a number of anime panels and screenings. For those based in or near Belfast, it could be worth a look as tickets can be purchased on the day. Visit the website here for more information on booking and location - http://www.q-con.org.uk
