Cosplay Island On The Move!

UPDATE: The site has now been sucessfully moved over to the new server. Huzzah!
Later tonight Cosplay Island will be down for a few hours, we're thinking around 10pm, as once again we're moving servers. I don't think it will have escaped your notice that the site has been getting slower and slower over the past 6 months. We've been doing everything we can behind the scenes to speed things up but we are simply a victim of our own success. If you want the more boring technical specifics I'll post them below. For the rest of you just have your fingers crossed that when we come back up things will be running a fair bit smoother.
We moved to Amazon cloud server hosting last year because Amazon server stuff is incredible. Way above what anyone else is doing. It has tons of amazing tech allowing it to scale up and down to meet any amount of usage. Sadly however the pricing for most of that is just way beyond what we can afford. We were limited to using their cheapest and least powerful server instances and basically have been unable to afford to take advantage of what they can do.
So we've decided for our budget the best plan was to get our own dedicated server. It should be a lot more powerful than the Amazon instance we were running and should cost actually a little bit less. We've already got it all up and running and we're reasonably confident this is going to be better for everyone.
I should throw out a huge thanks to Pete who's been handling all our server stuff for a while now. He's been doing everything he can to get the best he could out of our Amazon box, and has been consulting a bunch of other very knowledgeable people who do huge server stuff for a living. We are basically well looked after.
