SOLDIER belt help!
Okay, I'm gonna officially be starting my cosplay making this week and the first thing I can't figure out is...

How do these SOLDIER members put ON their belts!? I have been looking at pictures of Zack from all angles and all that the belt belt seems to have is a seam going down the middle of the back. And I'm very sure he couldn't slip the thing over his shoulders or legs. (Or atleast I wont be able to!)

So, I just want to ask for suggestions on how other's have done their belts. Be it for Sephiroth, Cloud, Genesis, Zacks or Angeals.

Thanks! ~

I cheated. Velcro. That simple LOL If you really want that seamed look, you could sew some wide velcro onto the jumper and put a bit of the opposing side on each end of the belt and then stick both sides to the jumper...if that makes sense.

But if you want to see how my belt turned out, have a look at my gallery at Angeal.

Yea, I think I get it XD I'll have to get my hands on some velcro then. =3

Your belt looks very awesome! Is that just leather you used? I got told by one of my friends I may have to fortify it with card.

I agree, use velcro on the back of the belt. I did the same when I did Genesis. Using pleather is always the best to go with making the belt, and I doubt you'd need to add card to it. At most you could double up on the pleather if you really need to.

Thanks muchly guys! I already have much pleather left over from my Etna cosplay and it seemed to work pretty well on that.

Not to mention the sewing of the edges and the adding of the SOLIDER emblem will help keep it "sturdy"

Progress pictures shuold hopefully be up soon when I get started on them. X3

Hey there! welcome to SOLDIER, now if you'd hold still i need to weld this belt onto your spine...

Yeah i'd totally suggest velcro, and maybe have some backup supports just incase the velcro tries to be mischevious

Yeah I'd go with what these guys said, for my soldier belt I basically did the same thing but with press studs instead of velcro. Though because it's a tight fitting belt I'd use both velcro and studs to be sure. Then once its in place just sew the seam down the back?

I put eyeletts in mine and then laced it up at the back. Mainly because I mis-calulated how much muscle I would gain from exercising again Lol!.

Luckerly with Seph you can't see the back.

That eyelets thing doesn't actually sound like a bad idea XD Though I've already ordered some heavy duty velcro for my belts. X3

Velcro is great. Especially the heavy duty stuff. I can't wait to see how your cosplay turns out.
