Any Music Videos at London MCM in May?
I'm wondering if anybody would be up for doing something like this, or is doing something like this:

I'd love to be a part of it! I'm going to cosplay as Crash Bandicoot!

Ooooh this sounds intresting, I wanna do something like this ^^
It would be intresting to see what song is chosen. I'm intrested to see how my chosen cosplay will fit in to the lyrics and such ~

I love watching these types http://youtu.be/j6UHpZqnzJA
There are so many American camera men who make them on the same day as the expo. Here in the UK there are a few who film things like this but take months before uploading... I only know of two channels in the UK to do these and they haven't done many..

I spent about 10 mins before being filmed putting on lip balm and never actually found the guy who filmed me on youtube at all, not even a clip from the event at all D8

I'm waiting for the day when someone manages to do a cosplay version of Muse's "Knights Of Cydonia". Bonus points if they represent Matt Bellamy's bright red Wembley get-up by having the guitar intro "done" by someone cosplaying I-No from Guilty Gear.

And a time-traveller could sing the first verse ("Come ride with me through the veins of history...") too!

But, dreams aside, it'd be pretty fun to have one of these done at the Expo!

These are really inspiring me to do this kind of thing, got myself a gopro to do some filming (it's a mini camera that does good slow motion; I hope to have it on a steadycam mount too) and this would be a real laugh - and yes, slow mo cosplay videos are essentially my inspiration for buying the damn thing in the first place.

BTW: Muse, <3 - not sure it'd be the easiest one though, haha. Very long track to fill!

Any other song suggestions? I've only got a few in mind for montages, I'd love to try the lip syncing idea, but am honestly terrible on musical numbers except a few classics.

(I'll be at the May Expo having said all this)

Finding songs that were relatively short was harder than I thought, but here's a few more ideas!

Lip-Syncing (Portal Groups?):
"Wheatley's Song" by Miracle Of Sound
"This Is Aperture" by Harry Callaghan

Lip-Syncing (A couple for the warriors/Skyrim cosplayers/general badasses!):
"Last Man Standing", "Blood Bound" by Hammerfall

Instrumentals:
"Longing", "Starry Night" by Joe Satriani

I'd pick something people are likely to know and be familiar with.

Knights of Cydonia is awesome, but not everyone's going to be know it. Whereas "Call Me Maybe" might be a cheesy manufactured pop song, but everyone's going to know it, and you can overact and be silly to it.

Go for fun pop stuff instead of "cool" bands and tracks.

I agree with PandoraCaitiff, you would definitely want a more popular song, whcih more people know! Call me Maybe would be good.

Plus if you do do a cosplay music video, perhaps start a recruitment thread or a facebook event where people can join, so that everyone willing to do it can decide on a place to meet you.
Or maybe if people PM you, then exchange mobile numbers. I know so many times I've wanted to be a part of something like this, but then on the day it is so easy to get lost/not be able to find someone, as Excel is like a jungle D;

A Facebook event or group would be a really good idea. You could post the lyrics of the song for people to familiarise themselves with, and a get a good feel for how many people are likely to be involved (always try for more than you think you'll need due to drop-outs and emergencies).

Might also be a good idea to arrange several filming sessions throughout the event as people might have other commitments. And if you say you'll be at the statue between 2pm and 2:30pm or the East entrance from 10.30am to 11am its easier for people to find you, than you to track them down!

Consider me interested and available (depending on the song you pick! )

I'd create a group but I myself don't know when I'll be busy at MCM this year!

Good idea on pop songs. I'll scour the interwebz for suitable cheesy songs that people know.
