Mask alterations?
Hey guys, working on my first 'proper' cosplay for MCM May as Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid. Ordered the best looking gas mask I could find (as his model does not exist) and was really happy with how it looked until I tried it on..

Its made from a very dense, solid plastic material as it can apparently be used for paintball and airsoft; but it does not fit my face properly. It just about covers my chin but as soon as I put it on it rides up over my eyes so I cant see anything. If i use my hands I can actually get it to the position I want it but if i take my hands away it just moves straight back.

Any ideas on how to mould the plastic without distorting it / ruining the look of it? I thought of using a heat gun but I think that would alter it too much and look too obvious

I'm not sure if there is much you can do really. I mean some plastics arn't affected by heat at all so if this is true for the mask even a heat gun won't work.

Is it possible for you to upload a picture so we can see what is going on?

The only options I can think of is adding extra straps to the mask - namely a chin strap to prevent it riding up - and making the top head strap longer also.

When you get the mask in the correct position is it comfortable or does it still feel too small?
