Applying tattoos by yourself
Last year was my first ever cosplay and i did Renji from Bleach

one of the things that let my cosplay down was the lack of tattoos on my forehead or neck the reason was i had no one with me that could do them for me

Its looking likely ill be going on my own again this year and wondered would it work if i were to make some sort of stamp shaped like the tattoo i want and simply press it onto my skin

Or if i could make my own temporary tattoos and do it that way

I've made temporary tattoos from this paper in the past:

It've very effective and like it said can last up to a week. I've not tested how long they lasted as I had to wash mine off for work after three days. But I have heard good things from my friends that have used them. It seems a bit tricky with the two different paper pieces but once you've done it one it's very straight forward.

Another option would be to print the design out and make a stencil then hold this stencil up to your face and fill in with black snazaroo.

I think the Tattoo paper would be a better option for you as it won't be affected by rain and you can sleep in and not have to reapply each more of expo (as I'm guessing from your sig this is when your planning it for.)

Naturally like all products applied to the skin make sure you test it in a small area first so you can make sure your not allergic to it

I've used these before, you basically just print out your tattoo and follow the instructions, all you need is a sponge or something to wet it down and it slides off like a temporary tattoo.

Word of caution for the tattoo paper.

If you have hairy arms, shave/wax them. I used it for a Scar (FMA) cosplay and had to shave my arms (I know it's just one arm but hey, can't have one hairy arm and one not)

It turns into stodgy glue if you try and wash it off too, which is fine if you're hairless but rewankulously painful if not.

Other than that, t'wasn't too bad.

I used the tatoo paper for my ouroburos tattoo on my lust cosplay and it worked really well. It came off pretty easilly in the shower too.
