So I'm making my first sword from scratch, I've built up around a small wooden sword with cardboard, hot glue and paper mache over. However I cant get the blade to be "smooth" Does anyone have any experience with using something like saltdough over it to smooth it out?
Or do you have any tips?



please excuse the mess, and sorry for the terrible quality, webcam is a tad old. But you can sort of see where its silver what I mean about the bumpy effect. Would just sanding it down work do you think?

If your sword is solid enough-
Bog standard wall filler applied and sanded down will smooth the surface

I honestly did not think of that. I'm pretty sure it is, it's survived me dropping it several times!
