Don't shop at yourcosplay.com
I pre-ordered two action figures from yourcosplay.com in August of 2012. The figures were released in late November, and by mid-December I had not received the figures or a notice of shipment. When I emailed yourcosplay.com about my order, I received this reply:

"All our store's figures out of stock now. our PayPal account close by PayPay company. so we can't control the account. we can't refund for you. Really very sorry for the issue."

I emailed them about possible restocks and got no response. When I asked about a refund, they merely restated that their Paypal account had been closed and they can't refund me. When I asked about them finding some other way to refund me, I received no response. I got the impression that they were making no effort to refund me, and ultimately I was right.

As you can tell, their customer service is horrendous. They had given me no notice about the figures running out of stock, and my requests for a refund were met with a shoulder-shrug and an "Oh well", when they received a response at all. I suspect they were hoping I wouldn't notice that the items I paid them over $100 for never showed up. As of 2/1/2013 I have not received my order or a refund, and I doubt I ever will.

In short: if you order from yourcosplay.com, expect to get your money stolen.

wow, owch... not good...

sorry to hear about your troubles...

Might be worth raising the point on facebook and the cosplay groups / pages there, make sure to link to the 'yourcosplay' page as well, so it's highlighted there every time someone else comments or reposts the message... that way they get the message that people aren't going to sit back and take this sort of crap anymore.

Hello I highly advise you ring paypal. They will be able to help you out. They will still have the details of the paypal account they used and the record of the goods you payed for them so give them a call

Seeing as Paypal uses credit card for their payment is it possible to chase after your refund from your credit card ? Credit card payments are supposed to give you more security if you dont get your product, or holiday booking gets cancelled etc, I heard that you can get your money back off them from credit card transactions. Its worth asking them. They may even lean heavily on those people who took the payment - its what they deserve..

That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of doing that. Thanks!

I tried disputing through Paypal's website already, but they shot me down because the payment was made more than 45 days before the dispute was filed. But I'll try calling and speaking to a person if it'll make a difference.

A nice thought, but the Paypal payment was drawn from my bank account, so there's no credit card charge to dispute.

I would definitely contact paypal and explain the issue. They should be able to go into the account and retrieve your money.
