I'm just testing some ideas for my FFX Shiva top. I wondered if anyone had any experience in machine sewing sequin strips like this.



If anyone had any tips, ideas, links to any tutorials, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen info on a sequin/ribbon foot for my machine but not much more D:

I used it on a costume recently for a commissioner. In the end I had to to hand sew it down then go over it with a regular foot.

I've ordered the strips regardless and will attempt handsewing them ><

Sewing sequins takes Loads of time hand sewing. In the end I resorted to glueing the strips on. I used Evostick Impact adhesive, worked small sections at a time, eg apply a thin bead of glue for like 6 inches then carefully press the sequin strip down on it and wait for a mo, then when the glue has grabbed it apply the next 6 inches. It really speeded up application, holds the sequin strips firmly on the fabric, and because the glue is that rubbery kind when it dries the fabric can still move and bend. If you want to experiment to see what it comes out like you can try it out on a test sample first. Its a hec of a lot quicker but you do have to be carefull with the glue cuz it is stringy.
