Well... what the dickens! where do i start? where does anyone start?

Looking at going to a few expo's in the coming months/Years and looking for friends, groups, clubs or anything to that effect to go with so im not standing around by myself looking overwhelmed and confused!

Been a big fan of Cosplay and looking forward to hitting the scene hard! Haven't got into anything until now because i was in the Army and wasn't to sure how it would go down. Reigns are off now so can't wait to geek it up a bit more!

please feel free to say hello/ mock naive approach to the scene/ or laugh at me! hopefully you'll say hello!

Cheers for the offer of tagging along, I'm not sure how many events take place annually but I've clocked a few, which i assume are the more popular ones.. but there are probs some hidden gems out there! but what you have said is what id be looking for a group of people who are easy to mingle with..

And Karakulz, I thought Nathan Drake wouldn't be to hard to do for a first costume! and he is BADASS! but after looking at some pictures on here, there are some cracking costumes! i love the effort that goes into them!

I think you'll enjoy Expos, i started going with a small group then it grew larger, now i'm going with just one friend. Big difference huh? hah. I'm sure you'll love it and make fantastic friends, i sure know i did! (':

And Numta, i can't reiterate what a noob i am this! think I'm just gonna buy a Day ticket for one of the Cons or Expo's??? and see how it goes from there, if I've got on well with anyone or a group I'll meet up! just seeing how it goes. I'm Abroad for the May London MCM so that is a no go, But i'm gonna hopefully go to the Oct one and Eurogamer in Oct. is there any others you can recommend? or do people do privately organised shindigs? either way im on board!

haha dont worry dude - this whole scene can be a bit of a head spinner at first - i didnt know what the hell was going on when i started out lol

Expo is all down to preference really - if you fancy just a day, do a day - if you fancy the whole weekend then book a hotel an do the whole weekend lol

Cons are slighty different in the case that you will be there all the days so a con badge needs to be bought along with accomodation for the days etc

Generally the best thing to do is touch base with people here before you go to an event so you know you've got people to meet at least then rock up to it and see whats happening - you'll be surprised how easy it is to make buddies and stuff there

You'll have a blast but like i said if you need any advice or want some people to welcome you to the 'geekdom' drop me a line =D

You should come to LSCC for a day next month. It'll be my first time at that con, but I'll be meeting lots of people there

Well I've always said you can't beat a friendly stalker! Hopefully I'll sort something out and meet up with you guys and gals!but i'll give you some time to decide whether I'm an a**hole or not!

I'd love too but its a no go for next month! My time will come!

I'll probs look at a weekend trip like this towards the end of the year. May as well jump in balls first and hit it hard! a bit annoyed that im gonna miss the May London MCM. But by the end of the year i'll have a few things ready and few pics to put up so i dont look like such a rookie! big fan of your RE/ Mil type pics! hats off!

One other thing if you are there for the weekend, what goes on in the evenings? Make that two things.. do you and your mates meet up regularly or just at events? i'll hit you up on skype aswell!

Thats cool man - take your time with stuff your first cosplay can be a bit duanting but you'll get it done fine im sure

Generally in the evenings we venture to get some food and grab some drinks - if its october time it can be a bit chilly so we tend to hide in the pub but in may its pretty toasty outside so we go all teenager - get a few bottles and sit around outside discussing geeky things and having a laugh - maybe playing a few drinking games that type of thing =D

Well as you know, being Ex Mil shy is something i am not! so nothing seems to daunting... famous last words. looking forward to moving along with this!

The evenings sounds good, whats not to like about food, chewing the fat and drinking games I think i'll manage alright.

We'll, I'm off to LSCC next month, Birmingham Memorabilia in March, May MCM, possibly Chevron, LFCC in July, D*Con (woohoo!!!) and Oct MCM. Maybe HyperJapan. Big con year for me

Checked LFCC out and it seem pretty cool, Might got there for the day, a nice summer day out! and Linda Hamilton is there!

And Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks! Can't wait for LFCC
