Hi,

Calling all cosplayers with tattoos: I need your help!

How do you go about covering up your tats when cosplaying a character that doesn't have tattoos without ruining your costume by staining it with make-up and making it look fake and obvious?

Any particular products or brands that work well would also be greatly appreciated.

Where are you tattoos? I know there are tights which are very close to skin colour which cover up a helluva lot and people say they can do tats, but if it's on the arm, that won't help you.

I would look into getting tattoo cover up make-up! i don't know alot about but i know that *sigh* kat von d did a range of it but i'm sure other companies must do it...

- an expensive set but you may be able to get this concealer on its own elsewhere?

I've heard that using white body paint and then your normal foundation over it works wonders for covering tattoos.

There was this thing that was posted up on tumblr or dA where you used a layer of red lipstick to paint/cover the tat area then use your normal foundation/concealer.

Oh! I can get that amazon stuff in a shop near me. Do you want me to find out how much it is??

Also a cheap alternative would be mixing cake makeup and fundation in body lotion, and then applying it like you would apply body lotion works. But of course depending on how bright and strongly coloured your tattoos are.

Applying several thin layers, instead of one thick works best.

A cheap/efficient way of covering up a tattoo can be done using this tutorial, I don't personally have any tattoos, but I've heard this works a treat!
