Hey Guys, I am doing my A-levels and one of them is called Extended Project which is basicly getting an A-level for doing a project of your own choice and me being me chose Cosplaying. The title for my project is 'Does cosplaying have a positive effect on selfesteem?'

And all I need from you is to answer 5 simple questions.

Depends on how you mean. If I'm with friends, I'm prolly about a 6, or if I need to get something done (so if I have a goal oriented task like "I must find out how much this is) I'm prolly a 7. With regards to meeting new people, I'm about a 3.



Nothing really changes with my first two, but my third rises to about a 5, maybe 6.



Again, depends on who I'm with and what we're doing.
Friends; Loud

Strangers/work colleagues: withdrawn, quiet, nervous - except, again, with goal oriented tasks



Nervous and a bit anxious at the start. I get the sorta mind frame of "what if it's no good?"

But then I calm down and don't really notice much



I find that it's kinda helping me get out of my shell - I'm not so withdrawn now, and it's boost my confidence.

I do it for fun. I enjoy making costumes and it's something I can do with friends too.

Cosplaying means a lot to me. I love becoming my favorite characters, and I love even more so the roleplay aspect of it. I'm not so much into the social side of things, but I love taking photos, as photography is one of my favorite hobbies.
Altogether though, it's a ton of fun!

Its a mask I can wear that allows me open up and be less reserved or fearful of what others think.
It's a way to show a love of a series/or character.
It's a great way to meet people who share the same interests.
Its a way to showcase my skills, and show-off generally

I'm a naturally creative person. Not only is it fun to dress up as my favourite characters, but learning how to sew and make things well is a great skill, I think! Plus it does make it easier to strike up a conversation with someone at a convention.

A way of meeting people with similar interests. An excuse to make and try something new.

You can easily make friends that like the same things you do so that it isn't awkward when you start talking about your favourite anime and the other person just starts to slightly walk away.

5) What does cosplaying mean to you and why do you do it? I enjoy acting as a character and have a lot of fun meeting othere. I feel more confident when I'm in a costume I'm happy with but it also gives me an oppurtunity to wear things I wouldn't usually.
