I'm going to be cosplaying Morgana, from BBC's Merlin series. The costume I'm doing is her Series 5 was and coat, but my skirt finishes just above my ankles.

My question is, what boots/shoes does she wear in the series? And if it isn't just me who doesn't know, what would you suggest that I wear? I'm not keen on heels, as I'm hoping to be there for a while :S

As far as I remember from my friend's Morgana costumes, flat slip on shoes in the earlier series when she's Uther's ward and then it goes on to riding boots later on. Not completely sure, but that's what I've seen cosplayers wearing.

If you want to check, I'm sure you'd get good references from the episodes where she's riding horses and has her feet in the stirrups.

I did her Series 4 costume for LFCC and, as far as I'm aware, it hasn't changed much. I swear I watched whole episodes frame-by-frame just to get a single glance at her boots, and then this filming shot appears:



They're black leather riding boots. For reference, when it comes to her gowns and stuff (I'm working on her blue and purple chiffon one now!), she has a pair of black heeled court shoes, and also brown leather riding boots.
